Some meetings are not about figures or procedures. They are about people and the care we share. This was also the case with our meeting on 05 December 2025, when we met people who believe that change does not begin with big things, but with small, thoughtful gestures. Together with the 10 community members actively involved in community mobilisation, we gathered with a common goal: to carry the light forward, to where it matters most.
This meeting is part of the project “Partnership for Energy Efficiency and Ensuring the Quality of Services Provided by the Shelter and Guidance Centre for People without Stable Housing in the Municipality of Chișinău”, implemented by AO “Inclusiv EU” in collaboration with the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance (DGAMS), with financial support from the European Union, within the project “Local Partnerships for Energy Efficiency in Social Services”, co-financed and implemented by the Soros Moldova Foundation, in partnership with IP Keystone Moldova and AO “The Social Innovation Fund of Moldova”.
The project aims to bring energy efficiency closer to people, not only as a technical solution, but as a form of care for resources, for the community and for the most vulnerable members of society.
During this meeting, LED light bulbs purchased from the project budget were distributed. These will be provided to beneficiaries from 60 socially vulnerable families. For many of these families, an energy-efficient light bulb is not just a source of light, but a real opportunity to reduce expenses and use energy more responsibly. Each LED bulb carries a simple message: energy can be used wisely, without waste. And change does not need to be complicated in order to be effective.

The role of the 10 community members is essential. They are not merely intermediaries of material support, but people who explain, guide and encourage. Through them, messages about energy efficiency reach homes, simple conversations and daily gestures which, taken together, can make a difference. To facilitate their work in the field and support them in their daily activities alongside beneficiaries, each member was provided with a power bank. This gesture also serves as a sign of appreciation for their involvement, dedication and the important role they play in implementing the project at community level.

This activity adds to a broader series of actions carried out within the project: informative sessions with over 150 members of social services, public awareness campaigns and constant dialogue with the community. All these efforts share a common goal: to make energy efficiency a natural part of everyday life.
Because beyond figures and policies, energy efficiency is about people. About the care to keep the light on where it is needed, without waste. About communities that grow when people choose to stand together.
